Over 50 cm fresh snow has fallen in Samoens, and more snow is forecast over the next few days. This will ensure excellent ski conditions for March in Samoens and Grand Massif.
However, there is a high avalanche risk at level 4/5 as the snow is unstable, and off piste very dangerous. Be sure to stay on piste or take a qualified ski guide with you on your tours. The BRA (bulletin de risque d’avalanches) is issued by Meteo France and provides daily updates from information gathered by safety patrols working in the Alps. Instructors and guides are required to consult the BRA before taking anyone out off piste.
