Tour de France

Le Tour de France – Stage 20 – Saturday 23rd July 2016

Stage 20 of Le Tour de France 2016 takes the riders from Megeve to Morzine and is the Grand Final for the climbers.

Climbs include the Col de Aravis, Col de la Colombiere, Col de Ramaz and the epic Col de Joux Plane – one of the toughest climbs ever to appear in Le Tour’s history.

The Col de Joux Plane begins in the forest just outside Samoens where the gradient soon rises to almost 10% and remains that way for over 11km. With a climb of over 3,214ft with an average gradient of 8% the riders are going to have to battle to the top to win the Yellow Jersey.

At least at the top of Col de Joux Plane there’s a lovely lake and cafe for the spectators, and far reaching views of the Massif de Mont Blanc!
